Aquaponics the marriage of aquaculture and hydroponics. A "eco-system" approach to food production whereby using a fishtank to supply nutrients to plant beds. This system is a recirculating sustainable system that uses no herbicides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers.
The by-products of the aquaculture system flow into the plant beds where they are filtered out as vital nutrients and the clean water is then recirculated back to the fish tank.
